Why a stick
Hands are fine. A jet is clearer.
In a brief or debrief, pilots fly the fight with their hands. A model on a stick does the same job, but everyone in the room can see which jet is which, where the noses point and how the angles change.
Our magnets do the same on a whiteboard. Lay out the picture, move the jets, and talk it through.
